First Day of 1st Grade for my Daughter
How did we get here so fast? I mean, wasn't it just yesterday that I laid eyes on your 8lb 15oz self for the very first time? Wasn't it just yesterday that I was changing your diapers and begging you to say Mommy? I know you don't have those images etched in your memory the way I do, but these were life-changing moments for me that will always make my heart swell when I pause to take them in.
Time does fly when you are having fun and as quickly as we have gotten here, I am reminded by just about every parent with older children, that in a blink of an eye, I will be writing a letter as you leave for college. The days are long but the years are short (that is the truest quote I have ever heard)
I love watching you do, be, and create. You are a little person (so grown-up at times). You are generous, helpful, loving, courageous and beautiful. I pray that your sweet spirit will always be just that, sweet.
I can not wait to watch you take first grade by storm, Zoey. Your love for learning, your sweet nature, your thirst for knowledge and your enthusiasm for life are all about to embark on an amazing journey.
I hope that you love school as much as I did.
I hope that you love your teacher enough to remember her many years from now.
I hope that you make many new friends and always stick up for the kids that need a friend.
I hope that you always chose to be kind.
I hope that you always have confidence in yourself. I hope that you know you are loved, so very much.
I hope that you know how proud we are of you, always.
Happy 1st day of FIRST grade baby girl.
Love you sooooo much.
